Mind, Body & Beard.

Mind, Body, and… Beard?

Growing a magnificent man mane can be challenging enough when you take into account the care routine that needs to be followed as well as ensuring that the beard is cut well to give the best shape to suit your face. What if we were to tell you that it isn’t just as simple as waiting a certain amount of time to have a great beard? Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure something will grow, but it won’t be optimal. Having a great beard isn’t something that is just given to you. We want to make sure you look after your beard and yourself; read on to see why.

Mind games

You may be wondering how the mind can play a part in the overall health of your beard. It is incredibly important. While the impact may not be thought to affect the beard directly, it will undoubtedly significantly influence how you look after yourself, whether that be with exercise, sleep, diet, or overall grooming. Interestingly, stress and anxiety increase cortisol which then dampens your hormones, hindering the growth of your beard!

Sleep it off

Look, sleep doesn’t cure everything, but it certainly has a massive impact on both body and mind. Sleep is an anti-stress remedy that is a necessity for anyone. During your slumber, your body works to boost the testosterone levels and lessen the cortisol, which, in turn, helps boost healthy growth. While we are now busier than ever before, it can be easy to forget to look after the sleep schedule. Be sure to give yourself the right time to catch up on those Zzzz’s.

Hydrate the man!

Have you ever had a full day of work with laser focus, then got home and had a horrible headache? When that happened, did you think about the amount of H2O you drank? Many of the headaches that we get come due to a lack of water intake. That thump in your head seriously impacts your focus and how well you can carry out tasks, increasing your overall stress levels! Get a big bottle, fill it with water, and sip at it throughout the day. Thank us later.

Nutrition has value

We will not give you a meal plan to stick to that will absolutely guarantee growth, nor will we talk to you about a miracle snake oil. It is essential to understand that many different factors affect testosterone, including weight, vitamin intake, and minerals. Zinc, vitamins A, B, C, D, and E all help with testosterone levels as long as they are taken in balance. It won’t override any genetic traits that your hair, facial or otherwise, may have, but it will certainly help it grow in a healthier state.

There isn’t a one size fits all approach to looking after yourself and looking after your beard, body, and mind. Make sure that you are taking your time to understand what your body needs and what recuperation your mind craves. It could be switching on the console for an hour a day or going for a walk. What we do know is that looking after yourself is beneficial in more ways than one, AND your beard benefits too!
